Recovery Operations(Failover, Image access)
Issue:
In some rare cases RecoverPoint 4VM's fails to automatically apply network settings on copy VM's with windows operating system.
In this scenario we observed during Failover process, after the Image access the copy is waiting for user prompt with message -
Error: The imported network configuration cannot be applied. Dismiss this message if you want the start-up sequence to continue. If you do not want the start-up sequence to continue, click the Close button to disable image access.
Guest Operating System(OS) doesn t get correct network settings if user dismiss the prompt message and proceeds with the Failover process.
Impacted Configuration and Settings: RecoverPoint 4VM's, Windows OS, Re-ip Automatic(No Glue Scripts).
Symptoms found in the logs:
Under connectors/logs/vi_connector.log

Cause
During the recovery operation, the copy waits for user prompt because the VIX API on the ESX cannot find the VM.
Resolution
Workaround: Dismiss the alert user prompt, disable image access and start recovery operation again.
Or
Use glue scripts for Re-IP.
Resolution: RP4VM 5.1.0.1 and 5.1.1
