Instructions

To alter the number of events reported in the UI:

1. Connect to the utility node over SSH as 'admin'.

2. Make a backup copy of /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/mcserver.xml.

3. Edit the file /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/mcserver.xml.

4. Change the completed_job_retention_hours parameter from the default of 72 to the required value.

5. Alter the maximum number of events that are shown using the max_completed_job_entries flag. The value to choose depends on how busy the system is.

6. To enable the changes to take effect, stop and restart the MC service with the following commands:
mcserver.sh --stop
mcserver.sh --start
7. Restart the backup scheduler:
dpnctl start sched

Additional Information

Restarting Avamar Administrator server clears the activity monitor of events.

Setting the parameters too high results in high memory consumption and slow performance of Avamar Administrator.
